Less than a year after “How I Met Your Mother” star Alyson Hannigan and her husband, “Grimm” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” actor Alexis Denisof, bought this traditional New England-style charmer in Los Angeles, they have listed it for $8.795 million. The listing agent is David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
The couple has revamped the Brentwood home, for which they paid $7.89 million last winter, with refinished floors, fresh paint and a remodeled kitchen featuring new appliances, marble countertops, and a farmhouse-style sink and lighting fixtures.
The 4-bedroom, 6-bath home was built in 1936, and combines the comforts of a rock fireplace and built-in bookcases with the glamour of crown molding and French doors that open onto blue-stone patios and a Hollywood-caliber pool.
Three upstairs suites include a master suite with a private terrace and fireplace. There’s also a light-filled office or gym area.
A three-room guesthouse boasts vaulted ceilings with skylights and a wall of French doors adjacent to the pool.
Hannigan and Denisof also put their Santa Monica home up for rent at $17,500 a month, Trulia reports.
